Classes - small groups and one to one ![]() Classes are designed to develop a Yoga practice or deepen an already existing one. The Essence of Yoga is emphasized in every posture that is then linked in a sequence so that the balance of Strength and Flexibility is achieved. At the core of every posture is Structural Integrity. This provides the firm foundation for a consistent practice that can grow and deepen on many levels. All levels of yoga practitioners are welcome especially beginners. Sequence of asana is based on the Primary Series of the Ashtanga Yoga Vinyasa system. Variations and modifications may be introduced depending on individual need. Pace of practice is modified to suit one's age and energy levels especially when recovering from an illness, surgery, or accident. Women during their feminine cycle also need to modify their practice accordingly. We have the technology and the skill to address various physical challenges you might encounter during practice or in your daily life. Classes - Daily Yoga for Ashstar Wellness Programs (see www.wellness-detox-retreats.com.au) Daily Yoga classes are included during the Ashstar Wellness Programs and are designed mainly to support a Detox/Cleanse. Postures and sequence will be modified according to individual level of physical fitness and flexibility. Focus is on Breath and encouraging movement in the body. Complete beginners and seasoned practitioners alike can benefit from these classes. Participants are encouraged to focus on self practice, tuning in to one's own physical ability and energetic level each day. We emphasize the importance of postural alignment and Structural Integrity, thus avoiding unecessary injury and pain. The practice of Yoga is meant to inspire and uplift, cultivating Compassion, Understanding, Awareness. The first ethical conduct of Yoga is Ahimsa - non violence.
• 8.30 am - Dynamic Flow Yoga The practice of asana tones and strengthens the physical body. It also purifies the various internal organs and the nervous system, restoring one's natural spinal curves and preparing one for other aspects of Yoga which are more subtle and vibrational.
Private Yoga Classes Designed for those who are interested in enhancing their experience of Yoga classes provide guidelines for exploring structural alignment within each Yoga pose (asana). When the basics/ foundation is strong the full potential of a pose can be expressed energetically. Each posture becomes the matrix for Sacred Geometry. Practice becomes delightful regardless of what goes on externally and internally. Understanding a pose is the first step towards enjoying a consistent Yoga practice. When a pose is steady and comfortable, the breath is calm and the Mind can begin to focus. Improved posture, increased lung capacity and clarity of mind are just some of the immediate benefits to be gained.
